Excellence in Mind –

our coaching approach

For more than two decades, we have combined neuroscientific research with personality psychological principles in order to support you in finding and implementing your own vision and your personal goals. Methodologically, we put you in a position to provide your personal learning and growth processes with sustainability. Our own scientifically developed instruments, such as the colouRem® Method or Authenticity Mapping Diagnostics®, are supplemented by internationally recognized approaches.

Why neuroscience? Why research? Authenticity is characterized by an awareness of yourself, your values, your own biography and your strengths and weaknesses. And it lives from a feeling for the way we affect an audience. Self-understanding and the ability to develop yourself further are the key. In our experience, many leaders, often rationally influenced by facts, balance sheets, processes, structures and indicators, find it easier to control this development for themselves when they can comprehend and rationalize the functions behind their conduct. Hence, colouRem® was specifically developed to improve emotional self-control. Even though the success of coaching is, of course, linked to psychological competence, leaders in particular find it easier to achieve sustainable success with this kind of tangible scientific background.

Executive Coaching –

Striving for authenticity

If a leader is playing a role that isn’t a true expression of his authentic self, followers will sooner or later feel like they’ve been tricked.

Do you want your staff to follow you? Do you have to deal with your partner’s demands and also anxieties in prolonged change processes, convince her/him and win her/him over to your own vision?

Changes in particular demand a great deal from leaders. In these critical periods for the organization, the company and the individuals within your area of responsibility must follow you. You must win them over to yourself and your ideas, creating common ground. And with different stakeholders, it will not always be the same ground. Building up networks, the emotional competence to address various parties, is essential.

We will empower and enable you for these competences with our brain-functional coaching methods by heightening cognitive and emotional flexibility, reflection, integration and teaching new techniques for self-regulation.

‘YOUR EXCELLENCE IN MIND’ offers you the following fields of development:

Harvard Negotiation Project

Just as a physical diagnosis acts to obtain a more precise insight into processes and symptoms, a systematic diagnostic look at the form, structure and configuration of communication will help in conflict situations and difficult negotiations.

The Harvard Negotiation Project differentiates seven, highly significant aspects of a negotiation, beginning with the relationship level and moving via the type of communication up to concrete decisions.

Biography Analysis for Top Executives

That I did, my memory says.
That I cannot have done, my pride says.
And remains adamant.
At last - my memory gives way.

Nietzsche

Who has not experienced that unpleasant perception and experience patterns you seem just to have overcome re-appear in a new context?

‘You don’t have to stay what you have become!’

With our programme ‘Lead your own biography’, we will support you in eliminating redundant biographical information-processing and experience patterns. The objective is to generate mental and emotional freedom and with it a new dimension of freedom of choice for your own perceptions, experiences and resultant actions.
Become ‘aware of yourself’ on a higher plane and thus the free designer of mental and emotional, congruent and authentic self-leadership!

The programme ‘Lead your own biography’ consists of the following elements:

  • Biography analysis (BIF-SE 2015)

  • Recognizing and comprehending biographical rhythms

  • Understanding and integrating individual biographical laws

  • Motive analysis (conscious and subconscious motives for freedom, self-realization, performance and relationship)

  • Personal alignment towards authentic self-leadership

Background:

Critical biographical events such as repeatedly experienced relationship styles subconsciously produce specific patterns of perception and processing. To the extent that they cannot be tackled, dealt with and integrated in a targeted manner, they produce a quasi-magnetic form of recurring and haunting motivation. The research by Parker et al. (1998; 2000), also known as the ‘key-lock hypothesis’, shows that repeatedly experienced negative biographical events (‘lock’) lead to a heightened inclination towards depression when similar events re-occur in adulthood (‘key’).
During my own research on biography at the Mind Brain Education Program of Harvard University, I was able to establish that merely the existence of the ‘lock’ entails a clearly heightened haunting motivation for the corresponding ‘keys’. So, as long as perception and experience patterns are not treated and processed consciously, our brains tend towards seeking similar things again simply as a ‘preservation and protection function’. Freud called this the compulsion to repeat, but I myself would prefer to comprehend it as the neuro-psychological consequence of our brain’s functional processing mechanism.
Normally, it is rather elderly people that tend to concern themselves with their biographies.
In his essay ‘Biographical Work – between Memory and Therapy’, Professor Rainer Hirt describes that the future seems to vanish for elderly persons and thus interest in the past appears to be something worthwhile.
At this point, why do we not deliberately change perspective for once and learn in the opposite direction?
Let us make negative aspects from the past deliberately ‘vanish’ by integrating them, and let us feel concern with our futures to be worthwhile.
And this very thing provides freedom from the ‘key-lock principle’, veritable freedom of choice and hence the prerequisite for authentic self-leadership!

Dynamic Skill Theory

The ‘Dynamic Skill Theory’, developed by Kurt W. Fischer (Harvard University) in 1980, essentially illustrates the parallel development of individual, initially fragmented functions and competences in the dynamic interaction with their environment, considering personal development via different grades of differentiation and levels of integration.

Getting to the deep-rooted core to
Reveal Your True Cultural Heartbeat

The differentiated overall consideration of the subconscious profiles of the key persons in an organization acts as the basis for ascertaining the cultural heartbeat. The analysis of subconscious processes can reveal and open up the core of an enterprise on a deeper causal plane. Identifying the interaction between different, subconscious functions determines the causes of communicational structures and modes of behaviour to be determined in the enterprise, thus permitting a mapping of the true cultural heartbeat of an organization. Subsequently, in a very practice-related way the starting points, competences and development potentials can be crystallized out that form the foundation for targeted and efficient change work.
